R.A.I.S.E. The Roof
About R.A.I.S.E. The Roof
We’re not just building houses; we’re developing safety, family, and hope for our most vulnerable. Imagine a community where foster youth don’t just live but thrive? Our approach shakes the very foundation of the traditional Short Term Therapeutic Residential Program (STRTP) and/or group home system, introducing a model where 3-4 youth and 2 dedicated caregivers share a space, forging a family-like bond in each home. This intimate setting ensures every child receives the love, attention, and security they desperately need, something profoundly lacking in their lives. Nestled within a gated community, these homes promise a safe sanctuary for both youth and caregivers, fostering a sense of belonging and mutual support among the residents, caregivers, fostering a sense of belonging and mutual support among the residents.
Within the community, youth will have access to therapeutic services (Individual Therapy, Seeking Safety, Family Counseling, Coping & Adjustments, Anger Management, & Group Therapy), physical health (Comprehensive Assessment, Nutritional Training, Physical Education, Calisthenics, Boot Camp, & Wellness), School (direct observation in school setting, assistance with program medication, collaboration with teachers, & resources provided for educational staff), educational resources (assessments & evaluations, accommodations for disabilities/difficulties, cognitive testing, & tutoring), medical services (routine physical examinations and observation by a medical practitioner), and spirituality (we encourage youth to have beliefs/values greater than themselves).
R.A.I.S.E. Program Goals
The overarching goal for RAISE the Roof program is to develop these safe harbors in
various counties across California and across the United States. An initial pilot program of four safe homes consisting of three girls in each home along with 2 caregivers, for a total of 12 girls will serve as proof of concept, The Inland Empire, spanning San Bernardino and Riverside Counties, currently lacks specialized housing for foster youth vulnerable to human trafficking.
We’re ready to fill this gap, providing a safe, supportive environment that nurtures healing and growth. Our village concept not only addresses the physical need for housing but also combats the social isolation that makes these young souls susceptible to exploitation.
